Target Users

One of my contributions to this project was creating a user persona that displays users' needs and frustrations.

The persona we looked at was UI designers. The designers use the Figma platform to collaborate remotely with other team members. The persona emphasizes the UI designer's need for real-time communication to support their remote collaboration work.

For more understanding of the designer's needs, we create a user journey map for the UI designers. The user journey map also displays how the designers need real-time communication during their remote calibration to be more effective.

Users StoryBoard
Create a user storyboard for more visualization of the designer's needs and also can visualize our solutions.
The sotorybord:
-
Emphasizes the designers' problem of missing real-time communication with their teammates when working remotely on their design using the Figma platform.
-
It also emphasizes how issues or conflicts could show up during the designer's work that they need to solve immediately.
-
Finally, the storyboard emphasizes the solution. Adding the communication features to Figma, the new features will allow the designers or users to talk to solve any conflict right away during the design process

Demonstration of the prototype
The most enjoyable contribution part of the project was creating the Prototype. It is Medium Fadilty Prototype.
This prototype has new communication features that the participle explores during the usability test.
For example, this medium facility prototype has call chat and video chat, adding a team member to the chat.

The Usability Test
Each one of our team conducted the usability test session with one participant (we had four participated in this study) and took observation notes, followed by a short interview.
Our usability test focused on observing our participants and taking notes while performing the usability test and how they reacted to the prototype.
The notes include their facial expressions and participants' body language while performing the given tasks.
After the test, we have a short interview with short questions to get more information, such as how satisfied participants are with the new features.
As a team, each one of our team shares the test and interview data with each other to analyze it as a team

Findings & Next Steps

After conducting a usability study, we found out some users have difficulty with the flow of the prototype screens.
We also need to work in our prototype to add to our prototype to be more effective. For example, using small window chat lets the designer see all the design details on the screen while chatting.
Our study came out very successful. The participants were generally satisfied with the new features added and satisfied with the prototype. the stratification rate was high almost 80%
Our next steps
- Design the high fidelity prototype to display more commission features details
- Considering researching how we can design our prototype for participants with disabilities. This would greatly improve our user experience as a whole.
Conclusion
Conducting this usability test for our study is an excellent chance to confirm the need for real-time communication features for Figma users. Also, a good opportunity for me to gain the experience needed to conduct this study and learn how to focus on users' needs in our design. It was a pleasure to be part of the team conducting this study.
